Community Development

“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”

-- Margaret J. Wheatley

ARP organizes Barangay (Village) Health Committees (BHC) from among the community people.  The BHC members undergo training to equip them for self-governance and project development and management. Under the leadership of the BHC, the community identifies their priority problems and formulate appropriate solutions.  ARP supports them by linking them to relevant government agencies and other private sector organizations for resource mobilization and technical assistance.

Over the years, ARP has facilitated various projects focusing on Tuberculosis control, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), blindness prevention, urban poor, Malaria control and prevention, and livelihood programs as part of disaster recovery.
